It was a much anticipated trip to visit my brother who has just relocated to Bluffton South Carolina near Hilton Head,SC.
On my visit we had the opportunity to visit with the folks at Rose Hill Golf Club and play the newly renovated 18 hole golf course.
Located in Bluffton, South Carolina, Rose Hill Golf Club is set among the Live Oaks of Rose Hill Plantation. Rose Hill is Low country golfing at its best with Spanish Moss hanging from the trees, sparkling lakes and an abundance of wildlife.
From the tips Rose Hill Golf Club plays just under 7000 yards coming in at 6961 yard. Today we will be acting our age and play from the white tees and at 6281 yards and a slop of 128 we have a rating of 70 on this par 72 layout.
This course was a blast to play from tee to green, and keeping the ball in the fairway made it a challenge to reach the green in regulation, but if you didn’t you where in for a long day and a high score.
At the time of this writing they had just earned the 2020 Sun Today Select winner of Best Public Course!
Well deserved and I would rate this course 4.5 and give the 5 stars for best value in the area.
Whether you are fortunate enough to call Rose Hill home, on vacation or planning a golf outing, Rose Hill Golf Club is sure to please. Built in 1982 and designed by legendary Carolina architect Gene Hamm, the 18-hole championship course meanders through Rose Hill Plantation, a beautiful southern community set among live oaks draped in Spanish moss, pine trees, dwarf Bermuda grasses and sleepy lagoons. The Rose Hill golf experience is also one of the best values in Lowcountry.
